Fishing for perch

Me and my dog got a couple of hours out fishing for perch. I usually fish for perch in the summer and for pike in the spring and autumn. You who follow the blog know that the perch-season has been a bit slow this year but hope is the last to leave the man.

I still got a bit surprised when I felt something big tighten the line... Only a light perch rod with a small wobbler with even smaller teeny-weeny hooks and a monster at the end of that. My pulse was raised when I realized that the monster was on its way FROM the boat and that the reel almost was out of line. With no other option I began to follow the creature that was trying to sneak off with my fishing gear. Luckily for me there where no others around who could see the spectacle and after a while the thing at the other end of the line got tired and I got her to the boat. Just when I got the landing net around this stubborn pike the hooks straightened out and loosened from the pike. She measured 104 cm and was a quite fun catch thanks to the undersized gear I was using. Actually I didn't think a pike of this size would bother to taste a small lure like the perch wobbler I was using but I'm glad she did and after the photo shoot she swam back to where she came from.
