Vertical jigging

Felt the yearning for some vertical jigging for zander fish. In the lakes around here in north of Sweden you can find some zander-fish (well I think pike-perch is a way cooler definintion but that's another story...) but in our cold waters really big zanders don't exist (as far as I know anyway). Usually they're about 30-40 cm long but some rare individuals can be up to 90 cm. In south of Sweden the zander fish will be way bigger and Swedens zander Queen has caught fishes way bigger than 90 cm. Gösdrottningen you rock!

Only got a few small zanders but I want to share a picture of the sonar when I could see one fish stalking the jig and finally attack and fish on!

Pike-perch, zander fish, sander, "tomato, tomato ( /təˈmeɪtəʊ/ /təˈmɑːtəʊ/)"...

Pike-perch, zander fish, sander, "tomato, tomato ( /təˈmeɪtəʊ/ /təˈmɑːtəʊ/)"...

If you're used to reading sonar you will see that this little fishy-fishy was smart and let the bait go before I got it to the surface...

On the way home I took the opportunity to do some trolling and one pike was interested in having its picture taken.
